Before we replace anything
Internet speed at the modem is only one part of the story. A router behind a television in the front corner of a brownstone cannot serve the top rear bedroom well. An extender in a dead zone only repeats a weak signal. A high-speed plan does not correct either problem.
We test where people actually notice trouble: the desk used for video calls, the kitchen speaker, the upstairs bedroom, the patio camera, or the television that buffers every evening.

Often, yes. Placement, cabling, settings, old extenders, and ISP equipment are reviewed first. If the existing hardware can provide dependable coverage, we keep it.
No. Mesh can help, but nodes still need good placement and a reliable path back to the router. Thick masonry, plaster, metal, radiant barriers, and poor node placement can make an expensive mesh system disappoint.
